Holy Week, it was!

Heya everyone. What a blasting week CSSUCSI had!!! It was the Holy Week in our calendar, and this is a double - wait, no, triple - wait, hmmm....no, quadruple blockbuster entry! Scroll down for more...(but let me warn you, nothing is all so happy...there's some reflections which we will do along the way...and it is intended to create conscience, not critisism....)

But before we start...let us welcome a new Catholic(and CSS member) among us, who was baptised on Easter day 2008. Her name is Joanne(correct me if the spelling's wrong ya...)

Baptism of (Drinking) Water by CSS members...
Tuesday
Then, there was TUESDAY. Easter Rally by UCSI-CF in UCSI Multipurpose Hall. H
Here, we examine our conscience a lil', ok?

Praise and Worship by the CF team

Sometimes I wonder, where are all the good singers for CSS? CSS's P&Ws are usually pretty drab, don't we all have good voices too...?

And our enthusiasm? I've seen other CSS members being soOoooOooo active in other groups, but when it comes to CSS, there's ALWAYS an excuse(or more) to skip meetings. Hmmmm....?

The nailing of Jesus on the cross...

Friends? Fun? Fame?
Are these the reasons why many catholics shy away from CSS?
Are these the only things related to FAITH? Where's the FACULTY of the understanding the FUNDAMENTALS?

Mime with fluoroscent light...

Though no one said you cannot have FFF(above) in Faith...
What's Faith without Fundamentals?

Terry Beary and his Shadow...

Altered Frequency live in UCSI

Rev. Kenneth Chin(without double chin...)

Wednesday
CSS geared ourselves up for Good Friday with our own Way of the Cross. Ayo, Byron and Ivan were in-charged of it...
A time of reflections throughout the 14 stations of the state of our world...poverty, war, discrimination of women...

The Way of the Cross.
We promise you next year that the ... we might go walking station to station ... but we shall not reveal the plans...
(maybe walking from one block to one block...?)

HOLY/MAUNDY THURSDAY
4 of the CSS members(all excos actually...) went to SFX, PJ for Mass. We left UCSI at 5.30 pm and reached UCSI at....12am! Had a blasting time. Bus hopping, train chasing, hunger-bearing, rain-frolicking journey...

Mass starting... CSS estimated about 2000+ people were present in SFX that night...despite the rain, the parishioners were just thunderous in their singing...good choir...

The washing of feet by Fr. Simon.

Jesus washed his disciples' feet. For those who wants to be first, they have to be last. For those who want to lead, they must first serve....
Thus, as Catholics, have we washed the feets of others?
We(CSSers) were in awe with the altar servers. They knelt down and placed the chairs quietly and uniformly!

The disciples of the evening.
I was told in my parish in Klang, the 12 disciples were children. After Fr. John washed their feet, he kissed them...awww...i missed that...

We sat at the right wing after 2 times being chased away from our seats as they were reserved for the handicapped and communion ministers.
Reminiscing : Greg said we could have broken Byron's hand so that he was handicapped and then we could sit at the FRONT of the church...hmmm...

What can we take from the pictorial of the washing of feet?

The adoration...

Good Friday
Church hopping brought us to Holy Family Church in Kajang. From the Kajang KTM station, we took a 10 minutes walk(under the hot sun) to the church. Thankfully, this church is air-conditioned......how comfortable...

The church. See the clouds? Have you ever realized that it ALWAYS rains during Good Friday?

A view of the church.

Did you know that HFK has all the 14 stations of the cross outside the church?
Though it is not statues depicting the 14 stations, they have MAKESHIFT pictures of the 14 stations outside the church...

The unveiling of the crucifix.

The kissing of the feet of Jesus...

Mary watching as Jesus is crucified.
Can you bear to watch?
And yes, what an eventful(and LONG) week for me, the moderator. I'm very sure it has been quite tedious to plough through the photos also...hehe...
So, as a reflection...as youths...shall we reflect on our faith? The end of the Lent season doesn't mean we can now starting SINNING again, you know...
p.s. More photos from other churches will be posted once i get from other members. Next week, we'll have a picture blog of the celebration of Easter!
